Thousand Oaks is a beautiful community surrounded by nature, which made up of a mix of residential and vacation homes. It is located due south of Walt Disney World. It is close to the action , but away from the hustle and bustle. It is just 10 minutes drive away , on a very easy route , involving just one set of traffic lights.
About 30 villas of assorted design and size nestle in amongst a wide variety of trees and around a beautiful natural lake. Wildlife such as raccoons are often spotted in the gardens or playing in the trees. Thousand Oaks Boulevard meanders through the community , from Ronald Reagan Parkway ( CR54) to Old Lake Wilson Road , close to Reunion.
Some villas are situated on this quiet road, whilst others are in the many cul-de-sacs which branch off of it. Each cul-de-sac has its own characteristic, but many lead to conservation land. The layout is such that very few villas back directly onto other villas , and many offer secluded pools and gardens , screened by natural vegetation , rather than privacy fencing. Many have very spacious gardens , which enable villas to have larger than average deck areas. The whole area has an air of calm which is ideal to return to after a busy day at the parks. A day spent in Thousand Oaks is not just a rest day , it is an integral part of your holiday that you will definitely enjoy.
In the heart of the community lies the 40 acre natural lake, again home to many forms of wildlife. Stunning sunsets are seen over the lake, from the boulevard, or you may be lucky enough to stay in one of the villas which overlooks the lake. Thousand Oaks has pavements , so is ideal for an evening stroll or an early morning jog.
Although Thousand Oaks is quiet and calm , everything you need for your vacation is close by , reached on easy-driving roads.
Just 5 minutes drive away is Champions Gate. As well as world class golf courses designed by Greg Norman, you will find other local amenities. There is a Publix supermarket here which stocks anything you would need if you choose to self cater. There is also a 7-11, a French Restaurant, McDonalds , a Chinese take away, Video/DVD/Games rental shop , Walgreen’s pharmacy , Subway , A beauty salon a liquor store and a gas station.
Here also you can access the Interstate 4 highway at Junction 58. This is a great gateway to many places , making it very simple to reach all the popular parks and holiday spots, whilst avoiding busy roads such as the 192 Irlo Bronson Highway. You will pass through this junction from Tampa , Sanford and Orlando International airports, all of which are good locations to fly into if you are staying at Thousand Oaks.
The exit for Walt Disney world is just 4 miles from this junction , and leads straight onto world drive. You can head further north up the I4 for the Universal parks and Seaworld which are about 20 minutes from Thousand Oaks. Both the Gulf and Space Coasts are easily reachable in a day trip using the I4 initially.
Should you wish to head up to the 192, this is easily accessed from Lake Wilson road , in a drive of about 10 minutes. Here you will find a huge range of restaurants for all tastes and budgets, and plenty of small shops.
For those interested in Walmart, there are a number that are relatively easy to reach. There is a back route to the one situated on the 192 , or you may prefer to visit one off the tourist trail but nevertheless within easy reach in Poinciana.
Thousand Oaks is ideally situated to enable you to make best use of your stay in Florida and a stay in one of its many luxurious villas will offer you peace and tranquillity to complement the lively atmosphere of the theme parks.
