Oak Island Cove, Formosa Gardens Estates.

So close you can almost touch the magic. As one of the four communities that makes up Formosa Gardens Estates, Oak Island Cove is very rapidly becoming one of the most sought after areas in which to stay when vacationing in the Disney area. Oak Island Cove is a small, very peaceful community of only 91 houses that sits just 3.4 miles from the entrance to Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

Located 1 mile south of US- 192 (West Irlo Bronson Memorial Hwy) between mile marker 4 and 5, Oak Island Cove enjoys the best of all worlds. Fantastically close to Disney and with our shortcut* through Sherberth Road you will very quickly find yourself right there at the entrance to Disney’s Animal Kingdom and any onward journey to the other magical Disney Theme Parks. Or simply hop onto the I4 for all the other wonderful theme parks in the area, like Universal Studios, Universals Islands of Adventure, Sea World, Discovery Cove and many, many more.

Equally if theme parks are not the reason for your vacation in the Orlando area, perhaps you are looking to enjoy all the fabulous Orlando golf courses, a little retail therapy or simply want a villa from where you can visit all the other attractions this wonderful area has to offer, then Oak Island Cove is perfectly located for easy access to all the major road links.

Also when you are on vacation you are probably want to try a few different restaurants, after all you don’t want to have to cook a meal too often. Well here again Oak Island Cove scores really well. Just a mile away is Formosa Plaza where you can sample not one but six or more fantastic restaurants, well that is at least a weeks worth of cooking taken care of!

Last but not least Oak Island Cove is just 1 mile from a very well stocked Winn Dixie supermarket in Formosa Plaza that opens 6am to 11pm and just another mile further west along Hwy 192 in my favourite, an excellent Publix supermarket, again open 6am to 11pm, well ladies you might have to eat in sometimes.

And just to confirm how close Oak Island Cove is to Disney, we have had a number of guests stay with us who have told us the villa was so close they were able to enjoy more or less a full day at the parks, return home for a swim and perhaps something to eat and then return to the parks again for the evening entertainment, I don’t think you could ask for much closer than that, do you?


* We would also like to share with you a very good shortcut to Disney that should snip a few minutes off your journey time. The instructions start at the exit to Funnie Steed Road:

Start out going East on OAK ISLAND RD/ FUNIE STEED RD toward HIDDEN GROVE RD. Continue to follow FUNNIE STEED RD.

Turn LEFT onto FORMOSA GARDENS BLVD.

Turn RIGHT onto W IRLO BRONSON MEMORIAL HWY/ US-192

At the lights and junction of SHERBERTH ROAD & ENTRY POINT BLVD. Turn left into SHERBERTH ROAD.

Follow this road to the next lights and turn right (left turn goes to the new Animal Kingdom Resort Hotel.

Stay on this road, you are now on Disney property, Animal Kingdom is the first of the parks you come to.
