Why do I own a Villa?Why do I own a villaWhy do I own a villa? I really do not know It costs a lot of money For us to rarely go. We purchased it three years ago It is our pride and joy But the mortgage keeps on rising It’s not a blinking toy. The guests may do some damage An accident I see Do I keep their deposit They will not like me My wife would like to visit Easter But someone wants to book I’m afraid that we will have to wait It’s just a bit of bad luck For it is very important To get some money in We have to pay the mortgage And that keeps on rising Insurance is very costly The hurricanes you see We’ll keep it in your escrow account But there’s no interest for me We want a new television An LCD screen I think So our guest can watch tv While washing at the sink A new bed in the master A king size that will do New sofas in the family room And they are costly too Some people up from Texas Complained that they were too hot Been messing with the thermostat And set it like as not The electricity bill was huge that month And no one else to pay Just dig deep into my pockets And rent it come what may Should we have done it sooner? Bought years and years ago When the price was less than now I should think so. We could have had many Had we started then But finances didn’t allow Had we purchased way back when And when we get to visit There’s lots of jobs to do So when the holiday is over We need another too. Our eldest lad is eighteen He doesn’t want to come But if we left him on his own Our house would be a slum So being a demon And for the very last time I insist he comes with us And his will succumbs to mine Do we enjoy our villa? Yes, we really do And when a renter chooses it That is a thrill too. Will we ever sell it No I don’t think so We’re looking forward to retirement And months away from snow So we will keep improving Our villa in the sun We hope that you enjoy it Just like we have done Snowbirds they are welcome They fill a useful gap But they will want a discount And quality on tap But when their time is over And they have gone away We get down to the business Of renting as we may Some come to sunny Florida And rent a villa here You wont find better place to stay You can rent one with no fear So finally I end this rhyme From every owner here You are welcome at our villas We hope you come next year.
