Mia Pizza on Highway 27

Florida Guide > Dining

Here is my review for Mia Pizza at Berry Town Centre on Highway 27.

The first time we discovered this restaurant was a few years ago as soon as we get near to our villa.

A combination of jetlag, plain tiredness and also after being on a plane 9 hours that feeling of being hungry but not being hungry (I get it anyway, I assume it’s due to the fantastic cuisine they serve during the flight). Not wanting to go out (too tired) we opted to try Mia Pizza.

Though you can actually eat in the restaurant as it has seating from what I have witnessed from numerous visits most people just come in to collect.

The serve is always very fast though sometimes due to the number of orders we have had to wait up to 35 minutes. This isn’t really a problem because we do next door to the Publix and buy wine and chocolate! ? .

The pizza’s represent excellent value at around US$10 for a 12”; more than enough for 2 starving adults.

My personal favourites are the “meat” consisting of strangely enough a variety of meats and “The Works” which has pretty much everything; though I must confess I always pick off the dreaded olives and offer them to my better half. They also have Calzone, a variety of garlic breads and appetizers. We have only ever had pizza from Mia and have yet to be disappointed. I am quite fussy over some foods and pizza is one of them. Whilst I will eat a Pizza Hut or Domino’s somehow Mia Pizza tastes more authentic and real. This might be due to the fact that you can actually see all the cooking being done right behind the serving counter, it kind of convinces you that the food isn’t any pre-made rubbish, not that I am suggestion Pizza Hut or Domino’s are either of course (litigation case avoided).

The staff are always polite but never really seem to have time to chat or any banter. Usually they are all busy, and quite a few of them are crammed into a small area feverishly working away. Is this the best pizza place ever? Certainly when I get off the plane it sure is, and too be honest even after being in the US for a week and dining there again it still rates extremely highly. So yes, it is the best pizza parlour in Florida until someone tempts me to try elsewhere ; -)
