Holyland Experience - Orlando
Florida Guide > Other Parks
We had the pleasure of visitingthe Holy Land Experience on our most recent visit to the Orlando area and wethoroughly enjoyed it. We purchased ourdiscounted tickets through this site and found the discount ticket service to be very competitivein pricing. The ticket company was a complete pleasure to work with, as wellas expeditious in their delivery times. As Bible believing Christians wefound this attraction to be extremely interesting as well as enriching to ourpersonal faith. My husband comes from a Jewish background, and it was doubly atreat for him. He was encouraged as he viewed the both the Jerusalem Model andthe re-enactment of the “high priest” as he blew the Shofar and made “burntoffering” sacrifices on behalf of the people of Israel. We all enjoyed walkingthrough the market place and watching the many skits which re-enacted eventsin Biblical times. We were told that the “castmembers” are professing Christians and must all ascribe to the Holy LandExperience Statement of Faith. They represent several different Biblebelieving Evangelical Churches from the area. Each cast member is dressed inappropriate fashion according to historical Biblical times. This helped tocreate an authentic feeling. It felt just like we were there in Jerusalem inthe days when Jesus walked with His disciples. The Scriptorium was definitelythe highlight of the day for our family. We were amazed to view the pricelesscollection of original papyrus writings and Bibles. The display of Christianwritings from “giants” of the Christian faith such as: John Wycliffe (Bibletranslator), and John Bunyon’s (the first edition of Pilgrim’s Progress), aswell as sermons from John Calvin & Charles H. Spurgeon were incredible. We had a wonderful time in theexcellent bookstore at the end of the tour as well. There is a wealth of booksavailable by many great Christian writers such as John Piper, John MacArthur,James MacDonald, Irwin Lutzer, R.C. Sproul and many, many more. In addition, there are beautiful prints available of the Scriptorium paintings of severalBible characters such as Isaiah, Paul, John and Moses. Just as “beauty is in the eye ofthe beholder”, I am certain that the Holy Experience will be a wonderfulexperience for some as well as a disappointment for others. However, for thosewho share our faith, or a love for history and learning, I highly recommend avisit during your holiday in the Orlando area. Page added on: 20 July 2004
